The eMADANI initiative is a key program introduced by the Malaysian government under the ‘Ekonomi MADANI: Memperkasa Rakyat’ framework. It aims to foster a cashless culture among Malaysians while alleviating financial burdens. This initiative is expected to benefit over 10 million Malaysians through a RM100 e-wallet credit, usable for purchases at brick-and-mortar businesses.

Eligibility Criteria

Who is Eligible for eMADANI?

To participate in the eMADANI program, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Malaysian citizenship
Aged 21 years and above as of 2023
Recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) or an annual income of RM100,000 and below based on the Inland Revenue Board’s (IRB) record

Applicants need to undergo an electronic Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identity verification process with the selected e-wallet service provider.

Age Eligibility

If you turn 21 in 2023, you are eligible to participate in the eMADANI program, given you meet the other prerequisites mentioned earlier.

Previous Recipients

Recipients of eBeliaRahmah are not eligible for eMADANI, as they have already received similar credits aimed at promoting a cashless culture among the youth.

Fresh Graduates

If you received eBeliaRahmah as a full-time student and have now graduated and started working, you do not qualify for eMADANI.

Program Duration and Claim Process

Duration of the Program

The application period for eMADANI credit is from 8:00 a.m. on December 4, 2023, to 11:59 p.m. on February 20, 2024. The credit must be utilized by 11:59 p.m. on February 29, 2024.

Participating E-Wallet Providers

eMADANI credit can be claimed from the following participating e-wallet service providers:

MAE
Setel
ShopeePay
Touch ‘n Go eWallet

Claim Process

The steps to claim eMADANI credit involve downloading a participating e-wallet app, registering as a new user or logging in for existing users, completing the KYC process, and furnishing required information on the eMADANI claim page.

The verification process for new and existing users will be done through the e-wallet service provider of their choice.

Step 1: Download a participating e-wallet application of your choice from Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei AppGallery.
Step 2: Register as new user or for existing users, follow the instruction shown in the e-wallet app.
Step 3: The e-wallet service provider will verify your identification electronically via the KYC process.
Step 4: On your chosen e-wallet app, furnish the required information on the eMADANI claim page and press “Send”.
Step 5: You will then be notified if your application is successful.


Eligible recipients can claim the eMADANI credit only once from one (1) e-wallet service provider of your choice. Please refer to the participating e-wallet apps for more details on how to claim the eMADANI credit.

Usage and Restrictions

Usage of eMADANI Credit

The RM100 eMADANI credit can be used for offline transactions at 1.8 million retailers/businesses via the chosen e-wallet, excluding specific transactions such as peer-to-peer transfers, cash-outs, and online transactions.

Restrictions

eMADANI Credit cannot be used for:

Peer-to-peer transfers
Cash-outs
Utility bill payments
Government-related fees/payments
Telco postpaid bills and prepaid service top-ups
Games purchases
Parking and/or toll payments
Investment-related activities
E-commerce or online transactions

Dispute Process

A dispute process is in place, allowing applicants to reach out to their respective e-wallet service providers for assistance in case of rejections or issues.

Data Privacy

Personal information is obtained and verified through government agencies, ensuring privacy. Any concerns related to e-wallet service providers are subject to Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) policies.

Retailer Participation

Offline retailers without e-wallet facilities are encouraged to join e-wallet platforms accepting DuitNow QR codes for eMADANI recipients.
